Obituary for Betty Ann Lamkin
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Betty Ann Dorsey Lamkin, 88, of Harlem, GA. Mrs. Lamkin entered into eternal rest, peacefully, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She is the dear mother/grandmother of Martin Taylor Funeral Home's devoted staff members Sandra (SJ) Lewis and Carlos (Brandy) Lewis, and she is also the cousin of the funeral home's owner, Martin Taylor II. She will truly be missed by her loving family and friends. Her Life and Legacy will be celebrated with a Visitation/Viewing on Friday, July 24, 2026, 2-6pm at Martin Taylor Funeral Home 911 Appling Harlem Rd, Harlem, GA 30814. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, 12pm at Wesley United Methodist Church, 825 N. Belair Rd, Evans, GA 30809. The Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 4501 Wrightsboro Rd, Grovetown, GA 30813. Please continue to keep our family and friends lifted up in prayer as we navigate through this time of bereavement.
Betty leaves behind a family who will forever treasure her love, wisdom, and beautiful example of faith. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sandra (SJ) Lewis, Jr. and Gloria McCladdie; her son, Samuel Lamkin, Jr.; her grandsons, Carlos (Brandy) Lewis and Travis McCladdie; and her cherished great-grandsons, Grant Ryder McCladdie and Greyson Coy McCladdie, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. She is also survived by her brother, James (Catherine) Dorsey; her brother-in-law, Hogan Lamkin; her sisters-in-law, Jerry Dorsey, Betsy Dorsey, Julia Lampkin, and Linda (Hayward) Harvey; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and all whose lives were blessed by her kindness and gentle spirit.
